Overview
eACCESS+ was a European thematic network aimed at accelerating the practical adoption of eAccessibility across Europe by reducing fragmentation in guidelines, tools, and expertise. The project brought together policymakers, researchers, industry, service providers, and accessibility advocates to support a coordinated European approach to inclusive digital services for people with disabilities and the ageing population.
Within this framework, IN2 contributed its expertise in media and document accessibility, focusing on improving access to knowledge and guidance around accessible digital content. IN2 played a central role in the development of the eACCESS+ Hub, a shared online platform designed to collect, organise, and disseminate best practices, standards, and practical resources related to eAccessibility.
A key contribution from IN2 was the systematic collection and consolidation of information on accessible documents, bringing together dispersed knowledge on formats, standards, tools, and workflows for producing accessible digital publications. This work made it easier for public administrations, service providers, and content producers to understand and apply accessibility requirements in real-world contexts.
To ensure relevance and uptake, IN2 also liaised with traditional publishers and key stakeholders advocating for web and document accessibility, bridging the gap between policy, technology, and content production. Through this role, IN2 helped strengthen cross-sector dialogue and supported the creation of more inclusive, accessible digital environments across Europe.
