At the ICCHP 2026 conference in Brno, Muvie held a workshop introducing the project's tools for supporting music education for blind and visually impaired people through technology.
The workshop presented the project’s vision of an integrated educational ecosystem, in which technology, pedagogy and accessibility converge to foster equal opportunities in music education. We also discussed some of the practical challenges identified through our research, exploring how these could be overcome using accessible digital tools and approaches.
During the session, we showcased some of the project's key innovations, such as the Braille Music Reader and the Accessible Music Library. We shared insights from our piloting and implementation activities in Italy, Cyprus and Poland, providing participants with an overview of how the tools are being tested and utilised in various educational settings.
The practical part of the workshop involved a live demonstration of the Accessible Music Library. Participants created their own user accounts, logged in and explored the platform by downloading accessible music in various formats. This allowed them to experience the library from a user perspective, giving them a better sense of how the tools can support more accessible and flexible ways of learning and working with music.
The workshop also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the practical applications of technology in making music education more accessible.
