IN2 is best-of-class provider of solutions and services to search, explore and experience multimedia content. Our focus is both on rich media content indexing and on content presentation. We support both search -beyond metadata and descriptions- as well browsing and visualisation of large digital collections in more accessible ways so that users are able to find faster and easier the content they are looking for.
We enable access to multimedia content by combining concepts from knowledge management, artificial intelligence and human-computer-interaction. The technology can be employed both in the indexing, by providing automatic tools, and the retrieval side by enabling multimedia search capabilities. Using state-of-the-art methods of content-based multimedia indexing, we provide solutions and services for the automatic extraction of metadata for image, audio and video content.
Our tools detect shot boundaries, extract key-frames and other audio-visual information like camera and object motion, speech and sound events and can be built together to fit your specific workflow needs. Furthermore, multimedia material can be described almost textually using features like colour, texture, and shape, enabling visual queries and providing alternative and complementary visual search capabilities that can be used to allow customers to find fast and easy the desired content.
Several systems in co-operation with industrial partners, content providers and content owners to automatically index image and video documents have been developed in the framework of several European and national projects. These systems have been successfully evaluated and installed for TV archives, e-learning environments that use video content, and Internet image and film databases and are providing a set of technologies that can be easy customised to transform your multimedia data to digital assets.
