IN2 participates in the ICT Policy Support Programme funded eAccess+ project that will create a platform for accumulating and providing information on how to use in practice the body of knowledge on eAccessibility. eAccess+ is a best-practice network to facilitate co-operation between practitioners in research institutions and consultancies and all the other stakeholders, such as policy makers, public-sector administrators, and private-sector technical staff. Its purpose is to accelerate adoption of e-accessibility specifications and technical solutions, thereby contributing to a common approach at a European level. The network will support development of common guidelines and standards, and provide rationales for harmonised political and legal measures when needed.

Where do we come from

In 2005 our company emerged as a spin-off from the Center for Computing Technologies (TZI) of the University Bremen with the mission of transferring technology which have been developed since 1995 by TZI in the framework of many national, international and industrial projects into commerce. In 2007, we incorporated as a limited by shares company in Birmingham, UK, with an independent branch in Bremen, Germany. In 2011 we are expanding operations to Edinburgh, Scotland.

IN2 is a success story of public funding initiatives supporting technology transfer:

  • Initial TZI innovations (1995 to 2000) were supported mainly by regional Bremen public funds
  • From 2000 to 2005, large European project funding in TZI, validated the maturity and robustness of the technological developments.
  • From 2005 to 2010, IN2 has taken over the commercialisation and development of the underlying technology platform and framework.
  • And starting 2011 we are expanding operations with very competitive offerings of integrated solutions and services.
